INTERVIEW: An interview with Tucker Goodrich

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Tucker Goodrich. Tucker has been at the forefront of investigating the negative health consequences of consuming excess omega-6 fatty acids (linoleic acid) from vegetable oils.

He is skillful in interpreting the complex biochemical pathways and literature on this subject and translating these into concepts that are easily understood. His work has been instrumental in increasing our understanding that it’s not just the carbs that are involved in the epidemic of modern diseases. There is considerable evidence that the omega-6 vegetables oils that are ubiquitous in our diet play a pivotal role in our health.

In this podcast, Tucker talks about how his early stroke-like symptoms and diverticulitis led him to investigating the root cause of his poor health, and how this improved once he eliminated vegetable oils from his diet.

He explains the research that shows an association between increased vegetable oil consumption and the growing rates of cancer, heart disease, type-2 diabetes and obesity over the last 120 years. He talks about the mechanisms behind these processes.

I really enjoyed talking with Tucker – I have learned so much from him over the years. I greatly appreciate that he took the time to share his knowledge with us.
