Today I’m joined by Dr Shawn Baker, MD, Orthopaedic Surgeon, athlete, author, international speaker and successful podcast host.
The word that comes to mind when describing Shawn is badass. He has set three world records across 3 different sports, played rugby including for Waikato in NZ. He’s had a military career and now runs a company called Revero. He also eats a carnivore diet and has written the Carnivore Diet – a great read.
In this podcast, I ask Shawn why as a doctor he chooses to ignore all the mainstream medical advice and eat a predominately meat diet. Shawn describes how he reached this conclusion, researching how to optimise his own health and performance.
He talks about how little we know about nutrition, the problems with research and what our ancestors ate. He has seen many people improve the quality of their lives, reverse their chronic diseases and lose weight while using this approach.
Shawn’s own health is thriving and he continues to excel in top level sports. Shawn is passionate about sharing this message and I am very grateful that he took the time to do this today.
